I recently had a discussion with a potential customer and he told me that he found us via co-pilot.
Co-pilot is the new AI help thing on Windows. This lead me to think about the funny and quirky ways people had found us over the years and so I thought I would share some of those with you.
In the pub
Surprisingly this happened a few times. Before my daughter was born, I used to do some admin work in the local pub (drinking tea) as I worked alone and would get bored of looking at the same 4 walls. I used to go to the local, and think I needed to be out of there by 4pm before it got busy. It was a great way to motivate me to get through my admin.
But because I spent a lot of time in there, I used to have some of the staff and other regulars asking about mortgages. Who would have thought spending far too much time in the pub would have helped with work!
Google (bit of fun)
But where is the fun in that? The fun part is down to the search terms people type in. We all know we are good at adverse credit at Mortgage Success but what about this one? (Number 4).
Reviews
Many people will use sites like Trustpilot or Google to look for reviews. We (at the time of writing) have a rating of 4.9 (out of 5) on Trustpilot and 4.7 on google… The 4.7 frustrates me a little as we have 2 x 1 star reviews for people who were not customers so really the 4.7 should be higher but its still a good score none the less.
Referrals
This is the one most businesses rely on. No funny stories in this section. But it is always nice to get a referral from someone you have previously helped. I know I do not recommend people lightly so for others to recommend us is nice and means we must have done something right.
Summary
There are plenty of ways to find a good reliable mortgage broker.
If you have friends and family who have been through the process of buying recently, they can be a good source of information. But if not or you prefer to keep things more private, you have Google, facebook, trustpilot and the like where you can do some research on different firms.
Failing that, get down to your local you never know who you might find there! Or, as you are on this page, you could just stop looking, you have found us.
