As a Mortgage Broker in Urmston all year we have been making posts about Mortgages and Insurance which, lets be honest is not the most exciting subject.
But at the same time, Urmston (which is much more exciting) has had plenty going on that we have not spoken about. I thought it would be a good idea to make a post on our home town for anyone thinking of moving to Urmston, or calling into our offices.
What is in Urmston?
We have a vibrant centre for a start! Since the rebuild of Urmston Town centre a few years back, there has been a massive improvement in terms of shops and the overall experience. We have plenty of nice bars and restaurants. For example Bevano Lounge is great for a full English breakfast (and maybe a few drinks the night before) through to Santorini which is a lovely Greek restaurant.
There are also fantastic cafes such as Lilys in Eden Square or Darbys on Flixton Road (the same road as our office) which does amazing cakes!
In addition to Lilys, Eden Square features a good range of shops and leisure to complement the offering in Urmston town centre and is also located next to Urmston train station but does have amble onsite parking.
We also have the near monthly Artisan Market held in Urmston town centre where you can experience some new foods and shops if you want to try something a little different.
There are now also singers and bands in Eden Square most weekends.
Urmston Transport links
Urmston is not too far from the M60 and there are great links to the Trafford Centre and Manchester City centre which can easily be done by road, bus or the met from Stretford – reading this back makes me realise I have read far too many sales brochures from estate agents!
Why should I move to Urmston?
If the above has not convinced you, then there is also some further investment coming to Urmston with the upcoming transformation of Urmston Market (soon to be known as Market 41). This will hopefully have a similar effect to the market transformation in Altrincham not too long ago and help Urmston high street thrive for many more years to come.
Urmston also benefits from some great parks for the kids. I love taking my little girl on the miniature train Abbotsfield Park, it reminds me of when I was a kid. There is also Golden Hill park in the town centre and other green spaces near by such as Urmston Meadows, Davyhulme and Flixton parks.
