Moving to Wilmslow

If you are looking to move to Wilmslow we are conveniently located to help you move to the area. Our offices are around 3 miles from Wilmslow town centre.

There are so many reasons why you would want to move to Wilmslow, below we have put together a brief overview of what Wilmslow has to offer. We are probably not really doing the area justice, it is well worth a visit and we are sure you will be sold.

Why move to Wilmslow?

Wilmslow is an affluent area known for nice bars and restaurants as much as it is for bumping into footballers and TV stars.

Food – There are not many Sushi restaurants outside of the city centre but Wilmslow has its own. Along with many other highly rated independent restaurants such as Chili Banana and the lovely Sarafina Italian food, there really is no shortage of amazing places for food.

Drinks – Again, this is an area not lacking in Wilmslow. There are no shortage of bars from the classic Revolution or Symposium (owned by one of the actors from Hollyoaks) both of which are great for some late nights through to Camarena bar which is a little more relaxed and nice to sit outside for some drinks during summer.

Health and Fitness – Where do we even begin? Gyms, you have Total Fitness and The Gym both close to Handforth. We have Styal, Mobberly and Alderley Edge golf courses, Wilmslow Hockey club and the annual Wilmslow half marathon, there really is no shortage. There are also plenty of personal trainers around the area and clubs for Jiu Jitsu and Karate.

Town Centre – Wilmslow town centre has everything you really need, from food shops, beauty, jewellery, sports, health, estate agents, clothes etc. You have everything you need on your doorstep.

Commuting – I think this is one of the big selling points for Wilmslow. You can get to pretty much anywhere in the world from Wilmslow. Locally, you have the train which goes regularly to Manchester city centre and Stockport. A little further afield and the trains go in to Birmingham and London a couple of times an hour throughout the day.

You also have Manchester airport on your doorstep (but importantly not really on the flight path), you can be at the airport for work or your jollies within 10 minutes.

Annual Events

Every year there are regular events in Wilmslow, some examples being:

  • Wilmslow Half marathon – This event is “run” (no pun intended) annually.
  • Wilmslow music festival – Run annually in July time at Wilmslow rugby club with some of the best tribute acts from artists such as Dolly Parton and George Michael.
  • Artisan Market – The Artisan market is on around once a month, it is a good way to try some food and drink from small local producers (our favourite is The Great North Pie company)
